Observation

0345(2): Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Assistant S.D. F.D. was in the garage and outside warming up his car to depart for the day. Seven children were in care, some younger than two years. S.T. was upstairs in the unlicensed portion of the home. I noted that she needed to be working with a qualified individual to be in ratio. She was suprised by this stating she thought that she could serve up to eight children by herself. I provided t.a. on this. Within a few minutes, F.D. came back in from the garage to asssist. 0345(3): Child I.C. left the main child care room to enter the back room where this licensor was working. He opened the gate to the ktichen and wandered within it for a few minutes. I got up to move toward him and he exited the kitchen shutting the gate behind him. After five minutes total, it was noted by S.D. that he was not with the providers and group of children in the main child care room and she called him to return to the group. He did so. 0345(5)(b): The sliding glass door to deck and door to garage were not audible when opened. There was no alarm on the garage door whatsoever. It appears to have been removed or fallen off.
