Observation

The family's garage has been divided in half by bookshelves. One half is used as a food prep, food storage and laundry area. The other half is used in a typical way for a garage although there did not appear to be room for a vehicle. The garage door was ajar when this licensor inspected. There is a baby gate in this doorway as well. It was also ajar. Two refrigerators that present possible entrapment risks were present in this space. The garage portion of the garage was observed to contain motor oil and pesticides on a lower shelf that would be accessible to taller toddlers and pre-schoolers. The food prep, food storage, and laundry area did not appear clean and sanitary. I observed that a banana was in the process of being sliced on top of the washing machine. The kitchenarea used for food prep also is the utility sink for laundry. It did not appear to be cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis. The floor does not appear to be cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis. The shelves which contain food items do not appear to be cleaned and sanitized on a routine basis.
